Thanks again for all of the info. Check out the junk bins at a sporting goods store, and you'll find some good soft jerk baits. I would recomend picking up some soft jerkbaits at you local fishing store instead. It occurred to me that virtually all fishing lures neither looked like a real minnow nor did they swim like a real minnow. I wanted a minnow that looked exactly like a real minnow, and then tried to figure out how I would createmovement. Make sure you pinch that loop that goes over the hook, or you will cast them minnow and corkscrew right off the hook, ending in a serious backlash on your baitcaster, speaking from experience.Next
I dont suggest anyone buy the new banjo minnow 006 kit. If I can pick them up cheap, we may add them to the arsenal. The kit consists of several soft plastic minnows in a few different sizes and color patterns, and comes with screws, hooks, plastic and metal eyes, weighted hooks, and O-rings. After each short, quick jerk, the rod tip should snap back towards the lure. The fact that the action of all the existing fishing lures at that time were totally unnatural and mechanical or repetitive made the problem worse.Next
Also, buying the Banjo Minnow supports the Renoski Lure Company, that is constantly posting property on Yellow Creek in Indiana County. I also had help distracting him today - we were out fishing for Bass with Texas Rigged curly tail worms. The medium sized ones where the only ones I used. But that billy mays guy that always shouts. I think they are a little better than flukes just because of the detail but with our water here by rochester and the stainedness of it that really doesn't matter. Now I haven't had great success with it around here but have slayed northern pike in Canada on it.
In other words the jerk is made up of a number of tiny mini jerks. Plus I he'll love the topwater explosion. My son saw the commercial and would not let it rest. An angler could use it to his arsenal and the tatics can be deadly. I have had spectacular blow ups, but very few hook sets. That's aggravating Stick with what gets fish on your stringer, whatever that might be for you! Give them a try, and use the minnows that best resemble the hatch in the lake you are fishing. I used to use the banjo minnow.Next
Many of these have a much better track record than the Banjo Minnow, at half the cost and 10 times the selection. Â We hung around the breakwalls and got sheepies and smallies. Lots of fisherman say they do not work that great, but I assume they were not fishing it properly. The Banjo Minnow excels at imitating a minnow in a variety of ways, and can be fished using several methods. You have really helped me out.Next
When a person becomes comfortable with the stop and go action and creating slack line, they can then try and put a wiggle in the jerk. They really have no desire for those newfangled useless things. Although my cousin did not get the really big plastic which might be kind of nice for muskies. Over a period of years, and many failures, my efforts resulted in a lure that actually looked and swam like a real fish. If you really want to try them look at garage sales, some disappointed angler may be trying to get rid of them for much cheaper then what they payed. There should be a pause between each jerk. I personally like to use them as a softjerk bait.
After watching a couple of thousand fish look at my bait or follow it to the boat and refuse to bite, it occurred to me that using cartoon minnows, spinning blades and other unnatural looking lures, that bore no realistic resemblance to anything in nature, might be part of the problem. The banjo minnow has been around for several years. I have also caught some nice largemouths as well. In a little over one year it grew to be the number one selling fishing lure in America. This makes the Banjo Minnow swim. Both the bionic minnow and banjo minnow are similar. They always give you a bunch of extra junk in the kit that you end up never using but paying for.Next
Fisher's right, if your not catching fish. I think it is a pretty realistic presentation. Up until this time people designed lures by figuring out how they could create movement or action and then built whatever type body would adapt to their action or movement design. Just a basic minnow very thin and hoprfully multiple cavities on the same mold, or several inexpensive molds. I finally got him to agree to ask the experts on this site.Next
